  1. how to disable the ncq on my maxtor, without moving the 1.5 gbps limit jumper?
  2. yes, i did a search and what should i do? how do i contact maxtor? or which firmware should i download and from where?
  3. Yesterday I bought a Maxtor SATA 2 3.0 Gbps NCQ hard drive. The model is 6V200E0. It is recognized by BIOS, but when I start my PC with it (regardless if it is on any of the four sata connectors) everything freezes right after "backing up bios.... OK" with the HDD LED constantly ON! I tried everything, Partition Magic recognizes the drive, I made a copy of my old drive over the new one, but it refuses to boot. Then I noticed a small jumper on the HDD which stated SATA 1.5 Gbps Limit. I moved it and voila. Everything is working OK now. So what is the problem with my onboard SATA? Is it SATA 2 as my HDD or not?
  4. nobody answered my question completely. i am between 1st and 2nd PSU. which one is better? 1. to have a 24 pin ATX connector (as recommended by DFI), but less than 480W (in my case 450)? or 2. to have 500W (as recommended by DFI, min. 480), but only 20 pin ATX connector? I do intend to O/C, but I will not use SLI. ps: Right now I have Prime95 24h STABLE (with the 1st PSU - 450W, 24 pin), at 260x9 with 1.45v*110%, 50 C - max at full load
  5. i do not intend to use that jumper, i have a KVR
  6. but it has no 24 pin connector. is the 2nd one so much better than the 1st so I must sacrifice the 24 pin connector for 20 pin?
  7. so, which one do you recommend? 1st or 2nd?
  8. well i have a friend in heerenven, NL he will be coming for christmas to bulgaria. if i decide, could you buy one and send it to him, i will ask him to send 37 euros? but you need to test yours if you can and tell if it is good for o/c-ing
  9. here it is: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Name AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Code name Winchester Specification AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ Family/Model/Stepping FF0 Extended Family/Model F/1F Brand ID 4 Package Socket 939 Core Stepping DH8-D0 Technology 0.09ยต Instructions Sets MMX, Extended MMX, 3DNow!, Extended 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, x86-64 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- is there another type of 3000+ if mine is winchester, that is more overclockable?
  10. Is there any way to see what is my cpu type (ex. winnie, venice, etc.) and what is its stepping, week ......? without removing the HS
  11. as a matter of fact i can o/c with the q-tec (about 260-265 x9 stable), but now i am trying to o/c with the delux (the one with the 24pin). i think this is more important to be 24 pin conn. than more wattage (24 pin 450W vs. 20 pin 550W). correct me if i am wrong
