  1. ! - RESOLVED - ! Hi, I am the tread-starter. My problem is no resolved. I did what you said guys. Deinstalled all controllers, first the low-speed one; But that wasnt enought. First when av asked for update of the remaining high-speed 2.0 usb-controller the pc started rolling. All my 2.0 compliant usb-hardware was immidiately rediscovered. THEN i could plug in my low-speed hardware, after another reboot the pc now asked for installing the NORMAL low-speed controller and so i did. THEN my low spees hardware was rediscovered. Now all the hardware is nice and easy placed in their right controllers and i have testet that ALL my 10 usb-ports, both in front and back CAN be working at 2.0 speed, if i need to. Thanks!
  2. Again: thanks a lot for fast and good response, folks! Today im gonna start solving this problem and it looks like your posts has all the info i need.
  3. I have the exact same problem with my Razer Diamond Back mouse.
  4. I have an Norwegian Win XP, sometimes this cause the machine to get confused and eg. installes some programs in an english 'programs'-folder and other programs in an norwegian 'programmer' -folder. This is ok, causes no problems actually. But now i wonder if similar things has caused me a more serious problem: it seems i dont have any high speed usb-functionality. When i plug in som usb-device (removable memory stick or external harddisks) it says something like: "You plugged an high-sped usb-device in an non-high speed slot - there is no high-speed usb-slots / controllers installed in this machine" - or something like that. In contol-panel -> system -> hardware -> mm., i have both an english entry: 'Universal serial Bus controllers' and an (new? / conflicting?) norwegian entry wich looks much the same, BUT THE ENTRIES under these two Universal Serial Bus controller-lines are not equal. The english ones goes like: Universal Serial Bus controllers -PCI Class USB 2.0 Enchanced Host Controller -USB 2.0 Root Hub device Ande the norwegian one goes like (i try to translate where nesecerry): Universal Serial Bus kontroller -Standard Open HCD USB-controller -support for USB print -USB rothub -USB memory storage device Is there a conflict here?
  5. I made one tread earlier, now my system is up and running pretty stable is seems. Could anyone take a look at my HDD - setup in my signature? I plan to use all 8 s-ata contacts as it says in sig., and all 6 harddisks are in some kind of RAID. Would this work? - Anyone see any conflicts or had any experiences? Reason for asking is that my rig is finally stable, but during analysis i plugged out a lot of things, and i STILL havend plugged in everything yet. Noting is plugged in on the cil-chip, nor is my FDD or front-usb or internal card-reader plugged in yet.
  6. I got the good advice in these forums to go from 2,7 to 2,9 with mine, because of a lot of bluesc. and instability, i went for 2.9 but as you say: it ended anyway at 2,93 or something, så i went down to 2,8 x 104% and i think i now am at 2,88. I will not go lower anymore, because i have this strong feeling that all my problems earlier was because of too low voltage. I actually should want to go to 2.95-3.0 after some time, but i have to observe som more days at 2.88. I have 8-9 fans and 10 temp-measuring points inside the cabinet and it hardly reached body-temperatur in there!
  7. Isnt TAGAN also a good brand? I have both Tagan and OCZ. http://www.tagan.de/
  8. It looks like i have had some similar problems. I also bought high-end components and was shocked by the instability, but then i didnt read enoght about correct installation and bios-setting either so mayby part of the problem was me to blame. Anyway, i got a little bit more stability and have now flashed TO new bios (WinFlash doens need either cd og fddI and at present it looks pretty good. Se my tread, and the good advice i got, also on testing-procedures: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7751 ps: im still crossing my fingers, memtest is going on at this moment.
  9. Again: thanks a lot for helping me out here, i really appreciate it! Newest BIOS and new drivers are now installed, looks likes more stability already. No new bluescreens so far. I have 2 x 24 PINS PSUs, 'connected' together in a Cooler Master Cabinett. You are not really supposed to be able to to this with that 'connection-piece' supplied with the Cooler Master Cabinet. But with some creativity you can make it (anyone: post me an private message if you want to know how i did this). And: no, this has nothing to do with my previously instable machine. I HAVE NOW RUN memtest (thanks for info and tips about it). It ran whole night without problems. AFTER JOB TODAY i will start Prime-test (and cross my fingers). This DFI forum i just great! - I will definetly buy a DFI mobo next time too, i really get a lot of help and info from you guys! - Thanks again. PS. My computer-friends keeps telling me: "you cant put THAT much hardware gear into ONE machine, you just ask for trouble". I keep telling them: "im not asking for trouble; IM ASKING FOR POWA!" hihi.
  10. Thanks a lot, i will work on the subjekt this whole day, good to get some response to work from. The bluescreens are different, i get 3-5 different kinds: Two of them are: "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" (STOP: "0x0000000A (0X6135BEE0, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8051E0BC)". And "BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER" (STOP: STOP 0x000000FE (0x00000005, 0X896020E0, 0x10DE005A,0x894CFF90). And i hav got this one: "SCSIPORT.SYS - Address bA6BC10B base at BA6B7000, datestamp 41107b4b" When i go to microsofts sites it says: "Error Caused by Graphics Device Driver" I havent installed the latest 6.53chips & 71.84gpu. But will do so as soon as possible I will also work on understanding what you mean by, and then execute, the following subjects: 'do mimetest', 'chech prime', 'try timings', 'windows memtest'. If possible give more advice on where i can read and learn about these subjects. I will start with Reading the entire new build thread first, thanks!
  11. EDIT: My problem is now solved i think. Due to 4 tings: 1. Good hardware, from start (but THAT isnt enough alone!) 2. I have studied and got enhanced knowledge of the critical things in the rig / bios. 2. Updated drivers and bios. 3. Good help from DFI-forum - thanks guys. Original message: My apologies for posting this in a wrong thread earlier, and mayby this is not the right thread now either, but anyway: I just bought my first DFI, se my high-end specs in subtitle. I love my hardware, but hate the bluescreens i get. Im using RAID 0 on my two raptor system disks controlled by the NVIDIA nForce4 chipset. RAID 1 on my first pair of 200 GB Seagate disks controlled from the same chip. RAID 1 on my second pair of 200 GB Seagate disks controlled from the Silicon Image Sil 3114 chip. And finally 2 x Plextor DVD±R/RW 12 x s-ata connected to the two last s-ata-places on the Silicon Image Sil 3114 chip. The only problem i had during assembly was that my graphics card didnt get deep enought into the PCIe-expansion slot. This was most certainly due to some incorrect measures in the Cooler Master stacker cabinet, which i think i have managed to fix now, by levering the motherbord 2 mm (used som distance-screws). I hardly think the problem lies here, but thought i should mention it - have anyone else had this problem with the Cooler master cabinet by the way? Regarding the bluescreens. I think the problem lies in the Silicon Image Sil 3114 chip? I have now unplugged all 4 s-ata connections to this chip. Now there is much LESS bluescreens. But still happens. Nowadays i get bluescreens especially during high-end gaming but not so often using regular office-programs. Will the latest bios and nf4-driver solve the problem? Could it be that my graphic card still isnt deep enough in the slot (it looks allright now, but could mayby still go 1 mm deeper). Is it the truth that RAID 0 and raptor disks doesnt go too well together? Excuse my poor english... Any answers or hints would be much appreciated. Thanks!
