Yeah that sounds great but I need to know what setting on my motherboard to change to increase the CPU Core

Well, I dont have time to type out all of the options right now but I got the FSB up to 250mhz and it ran Prime95 for 12-hours and passed every test. I kicked it up to 255 and it didn't complete one. I figure I just need to up the core voltage but thats a greyed out option in the BIOS. It's there but I can't seem to change it. Is anyone familiar with this board? Does anyone know how I can boost the CPU voltage or know what safe overclocked settings are for this board? Oh, and I have two 1gb sticks of G.SKILL PC4000 ram.

Hey, I know quite a few of you on these boards have personally overclocked the Opteron 165 and some of you did it on a DFI Lanparty UT SLI-DR Expert board or one of the revisions close to it. I really shouldn't have gotten the expert because all the options just confuse me. Could someone walk me through the process of overclocking this bad boy. I would be glad to send some paypal your way if someone could help me over IM. Otherwise just post here if its easy enough to explain. I have read several tutorials on boards here and elsewhere and I hear that some of the options have different names on the DFI board. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Alright, thats fine, my main concern is why is shuts off when I run the programs. I want to know if I wired something wrong or if this happens every once and a while with certain setups....thanks

Hey guys, I just built my new PC which is running a naked Opty 165 in a DFI Lanparty SLI-DR Expert. I have Windows XP Pro installed and it runs fine. I ran CPU Burn-in overnight and Prime95 for about 8 hours while I was at school. When I got home the computer was still running and everything looked normal. Now, when I tried to run SpeedFan last night (so I could monitor the CPU temperature) it just completely shut off my computer when the program started to run. The program opens and everything just shuts down. I rebooted with the same results. I tried running a performance test in Sisoft Sandra and the same thing happened. The test would start to run and then everything just shuts off. I have no idea what I might have done wrong to make the mobo act funky like this, any ideas?

yeah, I'd like to see how the dental floss works. Also, I want to do this with my Opteron 165. Does anyone have a picture of a naked 165 so I know how far to go?

I'd like to see where someone got 3.6ghz out of the opty 165 or even the 3.1ghz for that matter. I have been looking into these procs for a long time and I haven't heard of anyone getting over 2.9ghz and there are many who are striving for 3.0ghz+ with a good WC rig. I don't mean to criticize, I just want to see some proof!
