USB Key hangs system

Hi,

 

When stressing my CPU on an attempted overclock everything runs fine for hours

(240 Mhz X 12) until I stick in a USB key. This hangs the machine within 20 secs or so. Are USB devices running at the PCI speed? I can't see where to lock this so assumed it was locked at 33Mhz. Anyone any ideas?
