Guest M1Sports20 Posted April 18, 2002 Posted April 18, 2002 I just built a new system and here are the specs amd athlon xp 2000+ msi kt333 aru 512 meg 2700 ddr ram sound blaster audigy plat. pny geforce4 ti 4400 maxtor 80gb 7200 rpms ata/133 well heres the biggest problem. when i turn on my computer from a cold boot it doesn't reconize the harddrive. if i hit the restart button it will always reconize it. i have the hard drive hooked up to one of the raid only slots, but i heard you could do this with out raid the second problem is my bios says there is no cpu fan, when i know there is and its working..(by the way i have a volcano 7 fan). if i restart the comp 2 more times it will reconize the fan. Guest M1Sports20 Posted April 18, 2002 Posted April 18, 2002 well i just found out something its now hotter out and the fan is spinning faster. bios now recognizes the fan. Could there be a min rpm the fan has to run at to have bios recognize it??
mildotrecticle Posted April 22, 2002 Posted April 22, 2002 Had the same issue with an ASUS A7V133. The fan I had was only 2500 rpm, didn't register in the bios until I got a real heat sink and fan. Also I had the same issue with the HDD recognition. Had to use the Primary IDE slot to set up the computer, after that move it over to the RAID slot, don't ask why, thats just the way I could get it to work. Good luck!!
