cellings Posted March 29, 2002 Posted March 29, 2002 ok, so I had a problem with my processor being to hot - it was up at 61 degrees C. I had a volcano 5, it seemed I had a problem when I removed that black thermal pad. I just bought a dr thermal Extreme which was tested to stay down at 38 degrees C. I cleaned off the black pad used some artic silver 3. A put it on, now my processor is running at 52 degrees C. My motherboard is a gigabyte GX-7DX-P I think and my processor is an XP 1700. I can't adjust the voltages in my bios or board - what am I doing wrong to get my processor so hot - it sounds like an airport tarmac in my room with not to great results. Can anyone help?
