NF4 DFI SLI-D: BSOD when installing audigy 2, x850xtpe not recognised

still does not work now i dont know what to do, the only thing i could try is formatting and installing windows again, isnt there anything else i could try first?

well fixed it... had to format my pc and start from scratch

 

clear cmos

bios cdrom as first boot device

reset dmi pool

disabled on board audio

disable onboard irda

booted from winxp cd

installed windows

went to bios

turned off reset dmi pool

dram changed to 200mhz

vdimm changed to 2.8

in windows

installed xp sp2

installed nforce 6.39 chipset drivers

installed ethernet drivers

installed audigy 2 drivers

installed ati drivers

installed firefox

 

system now up and running, about god damn time.

hrmmm...i put in the Audigy2 in bottom slot, loaded WindowsXP Pro with SP2 slipstreamed in

 

after chipset drivers, i installed Catalyst5.2 drivers, rebooted, then installed Audigy2 drivers off the cd-rom...immediately after rebooting, I use the Creativelabs.com auto-update feature (this is the last time i use IE6 before installing Firefox). I keep going back to it until there are no more drivers to be updated.

 

Creative...always had issues with their drivers, but I never had any with Audigy2...every card before that though...was a tossup as to whether it was gonna be trouble.
