cchalogamer Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 I'm thinking about getting AMD phenom for my next rig..HyperThreading 3.0 i heard.. 1. You CLEARLY have done ZERO research (unless you would consider a trip to the AMD site as such)so that's where you should start, any phenom review should get you going (see OCC reviews) 2 HyperThreading is an Intel architecture, and a dead one at that, HyperTRANSPORT is what you're thinking of 3. It sucks. (see 1. for why)

Bosco Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 thank you for a very friendly answers.. Sorry I was not trying to be rude. If you look at our reviews or any other review you will see what I mean. I am personally frustrated with it because there is just so many things that go wrong with it. From what I have been told AMD is going to be launching new Versions of the phenom to correct these issues. If you are looking for a new system personally I would stay away from the Quad. Now Intel is a good way to go no doubt about that. Now if you really want to stick with AMD and don't want to much trouble you can look at the 6400X2 yes its Dual core but it still packs a punch. Guest ajmatson Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Like Bosco said they have so many issues it is not worth it. Go for a Quad like the Q6600 for Intel or the Athlon 6400 X2 it would be a wiser investment.
