OCing problem

ok here is my settings:

Vcore: 1.45

Timings: 5-5-5-18

Ram Voltage: 2.1V

HTT Link Voltage: 1.20V

Multi: 9X

I am able to boot at 4GHz exactly and be 24 hours stable in orthos anything past that doesn't boot at all and no post or anything. Anyone got any suggestions as to what to do. I know its not the vcore cause people can boot with the same settings and be stable at 4.4GHz. Could it be the RAM I am using? Oh yeah and the ram settings is at 333/667

Every chip is different. There are some crap E8400's oc'ing wise for what people think they should do

That Vcore is pretty high, I'd back that down to like 1.4V because the E8400's seem to not like high voltages.

I notice that bumping up the Vcore on my E8400 will actually lower my Stability.

like @ 3.9 ghz I'm not stable at all at 1.4V but I'm stable as a rock @ 1.375V

your HTT voltages are low also. I run mine @ 1.37V, but thats kinda motherboard dependent.

What NB volts are you giving they board , that matter in stability. You prolly need to bump it up from stock if you haven't..

as the not booting past 4 ghz , it's most likey the chip being not the most amazing Oc'er, the first chip I had did that, it'd be stable at like 4 ghz for like a day then just crash and not be stable hardly at all.

What week/batch E8400 do you have ??

The NB voltage is on like 1.3 something. Oh yeah and the week is: 12/27/07 and the batch is Q740A525T
