wicaed Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Just got STALKER, all hyped up to play it. Install it all, etc. Go to play it, extremely choppy, so i'm thinking, wow, demanding game, but I turn it all the way down and it's still choppy, not only that, getting artifacts and stretched textures. I've always had problems with this dang card. Artifacts in nearly every game. So now that I have $230 to spend, although I do not want to spend all of it since my thriving hobby is airsoft and that's consuming a chunk of myself right now, lol. I'm torn between: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814161064 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130274 I'm a little behind on the business. Are these cards equivalent? I know eVGA has a lifetime warranty, but they haven't served me well in the 6800. I wanted to finally try out the ATI series now. Not sure of HIS but the heatsink seems nice. Thanks, input appreciated.
kendellrt Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I have a built by ATI X850Pro flashed to X850XT PE with silencer, if you are interested. Oh, and the 7800GS would be the better card. If you go ATI, you could get the X1950Pro, but I personally can't justify spending that amount on an AGP card.
wicaed Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Do you think I should go with: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814150174 Or just get a socket 754 pci-e board and a pci-e card?
wicaed Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Ordered the eVGA 7800gs agp. We'll see what it's like when it arrives, hope it doesn't bottleneck with my cpu.
