TEK_Speedy Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 (edited) Clearing CMOS means taking the battery out for 60 seconds then putting it back in, right? Also, should I enable AMD K8 Cool n Quiet? EDIT: Couldn't find where in power strip I can see the video cards temperature. EDIT: Tried PC Wizard 2006, doesn't show any temperature reading for the video card. Edited November 21, 2006 by TEK_Speedy
Verran Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I overclocked it to 2.4ghz perfectly (10x240). However, CPUz reads it as 2600mhz and a 11x multiplier. (I did this in the bios) Which is it? 2.4 or 2.6? Do you even know? Also, you did not overclock it perfectly. "Perfectly" would involve some sort of stability testing, of which you have mentioned none. Also, you have made no adjustments to your voltages, and your HT Multi is still at 5x (which, as nrg said, will almost definately cause you problems). Plus, you've got your PCI-E at 120, and I have absolutely no idea why, and I'm sure you don't either. I'm going to say this again. You have no idea what you're doing. You've found the BIOS and are no longer using ClockGen, and that's a good start, but you've still got a lot of reading to do. You can't just go in and "bump" the HTT up by 40 in one shot and expect everything to still work right. You need to adjust memory speeds, probably add some voltage to the CPU, and for god's sake, run a stability test or three. The fact that you've set PCI-E to 120 is a clear indicator that you're just "upping" any settings you can find that say "frequency". That is NOT the right way to do it.
