NCC10281982B Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 I ran both 3dmark 01 and 03 one after another to day and notised that the temp on my video card was around 90 degrees C... no kidding. Anyone else have temps like this??
Destiny007 Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 HOLLY CRAP and its still alive!?! Did you adjust voltage? is the fan spinnin? Is the HSF in place correctly? If its non of these, its gotta be defective. no way it can last through temps that high.
NCC10281982B Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 yes its alive no I have not modified it. yes the fan is spinning. the pci slot below it is populated.
cypher Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Where are you getting these temps from?? If they are from your mobo/Gfx card gauge use a different source, If they are from a external temp gauge try ur mobo or another temp gauge. If It really is running at 90'c go into your bios and check the AGP voltage, then If that is correct take ur HSF and put some ARtic Silver between your GPU and HSF. cypher Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Also if you can move whatever is in the pci slot below it, this will increase airflow.

cypher Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 a TEC would be a good idea, mabie you could move a network card or somthing smaller below the GFX card
NCC10281982B Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Which leads to my next question. based on the temp and what is known about the gpu is it possible to calculate the heat load (in watts) so i can figure out which tec to buy?? I'll move the cards around.
