Acid Storm Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 I was wondering if their is a way that we can measure the noise our computers make and compare it. I think I have a fairly quiet system. I found it hard to figure out what was quieter; an closed case with my fan running at 4500rpm, or an open case with my fan running at 1500rpm. the difference is hard to notice because my fan will adjust slowly. It would be fun to have a little competition in the loudest of quietest system. I also want to compair my noise to some other systems around here to see if it is reasonable to add casefans. does anybody know a method? on tomshardware they said to compair it with the bootup beep. does anybody have a program which can measure the exact DBl recorded. this way we can convert it all to a standard. I think it would be fun. tell me what you think (or if you have better ideas)
d3bruts1d Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 There are special tools to mesure sound. Only problem with mesuring sound, is you need a sound proof room (or close to it) to mesure it in... otherwise, you pick up the sound from everything.
