OptikaliLLusion Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I know it isn't really software, but I need help with it. I am trying to get IE to not make you need to let IE install ActiveX controls. The Verizon FiOS optimization tool uses ActiveX, and when I hit Optimize IE says "OMFG TEH PROGRAM WANTED ACTIVEX CLICK HERE TO INSTALL AND GO BACK LOLZ TEH VIRUS!". But when I go back it won't run it. So how can I make it so when I hit Optimize it installs the ActiveX control with no prompting? I went to security options and made everything Enable, but no luck. d3bruts1d Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Though it is a MAJOR security risk to configure IE like that, you can do it by going to IE's properties, select the security tab, select custom level and then unselect the option to prompt for ActiveX. You amy also have to enable downloading unassigned AxtiveX controls. I am not recommending, suggesting, or in any way encouraging any user to do this. Change this setting at your own risk, but please don't complain to me if (and when) something bad happens.
OptikaliLLusion Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I've got everything on enable, nothing on prompt, and I still get that blue bar at the top of the window asking if you want to instlal the control.
