GregP24 Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I've been having some serious cold boot issues with my VX RAM. So, I've been swapping it out with my Plat Rev2. I could never get this stuff to OC beyond 220mhz. Well, last night I was browsing the xtremeforums and came across a thread where it was mentioned that a TREF of 3072 would work best with TCCD/TCC5. I had been using 3120 and 1168. Well, here's what happened with TREF@3072: I"m still working on getting to 312mhz so I can get my 2.8ghz back. But I'm impressed, this stuff DOES rock. CNUco2007 Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 if you dont mind me asking... what is TREF? is that another timing or something? how do you change it? i have plat rev 2 and mine can get up to about 270Mhz
hardnrg Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 it is another ram timing... the neo2 sets the tref to 200mhz 3.9μs when i had the ram running at 1:1 which is 3072... it's not available in the bios (not in the standard bios anyway) but you can set it with A64 Tweaker although that would only apply to the current session of windows and i'm pretty sure it will go back to the default values on a reboot (or maybe it goes back when the bios is saved i'm not sure) what voltage you running Greg? GregP24 Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 You can set A64 tweaker to apply the settings on startup. It's an awesome program for mobo's like the Neo2. Only 2.7v, Nrg. This mem doesn't like volts. I backed it down to 295x9.5 so I can get my 2.8ghz. I can't get it stable 310mhz.
