gotdamojo06 Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 Hey guys I am new to overclocking RAM and even CPU. But I have my 1.2 CPUs (duals) running at 1.4. I was wondering if overclocking ram is good or bad and also how i would go about doing this. I know where to go in bios to change the cycles or what ever but i dont know what that means and i also dont know what in the world i would change them to. i would apreciate any input on this topic and my situation. thanx for the help
10Gauge Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 well tell us what kind of mobo you have.. i had an ecs mobo and all i could do to overclock anything was to up the front side bus. so other than that i don't know what to tell you. so if you have your processors overclocked already then your ram might be as well but that's all i can tell you..maybe if you let us know what kind of mobo you have maybe some of the other guys here could help you more.. 10Gauge Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 well i'm sure that your mobo is way better than that ecs one i had. can you turn up any voltages on it? also if you change your ram timings.. lower numbers are faster than higher numbers..I would adjust one thing at a time and see what works the best.
