:O ok i read some stuff very interesting and helpful

I have an amd althon barton 1.7 running at 166 mhz 12.5x 2800+ now is 2.09

mother board is an asus a7n8x2.0 acpi bios rev 1005

l1 is 64 l2 on chip 512 at 2088 mhz

ram is samsung ddr sd-ram pc2700 dual 512 and 2-256 same 1.5 gigs frequncy is 167mhz fsb-ram1:1

GRAPHICS NVIDIA GFORCE4 MMX 440 WITH agp8x 64 megs has smart doctor 2

I was reading you can bridge the l1 slots on the chip to un lock it with a kit

instead of using conductive grease could you use the repair kit for a rear window defrost kit ?

also new to over clocking can i do any thing with my ram? my purpose is too bring down my cli crunch time for seti i'm now averaging 2hour and 10 minutes the crunching time seems to be going down or is there any else i can tweek, my system is weak as my graphics go and chip perhaps the board as well yet i feel compelled to max it out over the cliff

its got give to it got a big cooler and fans for everything cable instead of ribbon wire I've reset my bois so many times playing yet i know hardy what i'm doing lol most of its greek to me

if you can't unlock it in the bios, there's next to no chance that you can unlock it with bridging/cutting, there's only one solution afaik, to bridge it into a "mobile" xp chip... but it doesn't work on NForce2 mobo's... which you have...
