bp9801 Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Intel has announced it is finally planning to cut CPU prices by 10% and in some cases, up to 15% for its 8th and 9th generation desktop CPUs. It has sent this news to its downstream PC and motherboard partners, according to some sources. This is good news for the market as AMD continues to apply pressure onto Intel with its increased performance and value offerings with its Ryzen 3000 lineup. Intel's CEO Bob Sawn mentioned "we clearly view a more competitive environment, so, all else equal, our ability to capture value for the incremental performance, all else equal, will be more challenging." This is a direct response to the new Ryzen 3000's expected benchmarks and pricing, which show that AMD's chips offer the better bang for the buck in most cases. If Intel is gearing up for a price war with AMD, this is good news for gamers everywhere.
