Guest_Jim_* Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 VideoCardz is reporting its source with ASUS has informed them the AIB company is preparing an RX 590 ROG STRIX graphics card. Based on the product code, this graphics card will have 8 GB of VRAM but all we know past that comes from a 3DMark database entry recently discovered. This entry shows a clockspeed of 1545 MHz, which is 205 MHz above the RX 580 boost clock, but the memory speed is the same, suggesting it is using the same subsystem. The speculation is these RX 590 GPUs are the result of Polaris being brought to 12 nm, resulting in improved power efficiency, enabling the higher clock speed. There is no information on pricing, nor when it may be available, but it does show AMD is preparing for another GPU launch this year, targeting the mid-range, so not a response to NVIDIA's RTX graphics cards.
