CheeseMan42 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 According to public broadcaster NHK, Apple is considering teaming up with partner Foxconn for an investment in the semiconductor unit of Toshiba. The multi-billion dollar deal would grant the partnership more than 20% of the Toshiba unit. Toshiba isn't looking to sell outright in order to ease "the Japanese government's concerns over any transfer of sensitive technology to investors it deems a risk to national security." Apple and Foxconn join three other entities submitting bids for the Toshiba unit which includes Broadcom, SK Hynix, and Western Digital.
