Guest onions Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Question about the Windows 10 search bar... Is it possible to use it like the search bar in Windows 7? For example, I have the full Office 2016 suite installed on my computer. I want to open Word, but I don't have an icon for it on my desktop or the taskbar. So, I click on the "Ask me anything" field, type in "Word" or "Word 2016" aaaaand... No results! It just wants to search the web for it. It forces me to click the start button, go to all apps, and then scroll through that mess. Is there really no way to just type in the name of an app, hit enter, and have it launch? This is very inefficient...

bp9801 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 If you have it installed, the app is the first item in the list it pulls up. If you don't have it installed, then it searches for it on the Internet. You could always just pin the app to the Start menu and have it right there as you open it.
