CheeseMan42 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Head of Xbox at Microsoft Phil Spencer addressed the question of whether the company would extend backwards compatibility to original Xbox games with some comments on Twitter earlier this week. The team is "actively considering" the possibility with Spencer stating "I don't think it's silly. I ask the BC team this question a lot. Need to finish 360 BC for now." More than 100 Xbox 360 games will become playable on the Xbox One starting in November and Xbox backwards compatibility could be a logical next step. It would certainly give Microsoft another leg up on Sony and the PlayStation 4, which lacks backwards compatibility.
