CheeseMan42 Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Kingston has announced a new solid state drive under its HyperX brand. The Predator PCIe SSD "is the highest-end SSD with the fastest speeds in the HyperX lineup." The Predator takes advantage of the extremely high speeds of the PCIe 2.0 x4 interface to provide speeds that far exceed the capabilities of SATA based drives. A Marvell 88SS9293 controller provides read and write speeds up to 1400MB/s and 1000MB/s, respectively, in capacities of 240GB and 480GB. The Predator uses the M.2 form factor with a half-height, half-length adapter for motherboards that don't have the necessary socket.
