Sometimes Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) I have a question about memory and the frequency that they run at. I have 6GB of RAM (2x2GB and 2x1GB), dual channel (ganged) and all of them are a Max Bandwidth of 400Mhz. My question is how does 400Mhz relate to the DRAM frequency? I kinda guessing at this, but since they are 400Mhz each times 2 (DDR2), should my BIOS's DRAM multiplier be x4.0 to = 800Mhz (400Mhz DRAM Frequency according to CPU-Z)? What am I not understanding? Here are some images of CPU-Z's SPD Tab (per slot) and the Memory Tab Thanks in advance Edited November 19, 2011 by Sometimes
Boinker Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Actual frequency is 400 MHz. Sense its double data rate memory it operates at twice the rate that cpuz reports. 800mhz. Nothing wrong here that I see.
