AceDeAce Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Hey guys, Dont normally post or make topics here, but I thought this was thread worthy. I was reading up on overclocking whilst keeping Cool'n'Quiet enabled and discovered it automatically disables when you increase the multiplier above 19x. So, to get to 3.8GHz I went up to 18.5 and increased the bus speed to around 217. It worked fine, fully stable and voltages/frequency decreased as normal. I just checked Core Temp and saw that my frequency's were jumping al over the place. I got a screenshot of them at 7.6GHz, but they also hit 4.3, 4.6 and then drop down to 2.1. What to think? AceDeAce Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I have to say, temps at 7.6 are rather respectable, using a Hyper 212+...a casual 48 under load
Waco Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) You're not running at 7.6. Coretemp is just reporting the wrong speeds...by a lot. Obviously you set 217 fsb but it's reading 417. My fx-8120 messed with coretemp too...it read 16.5 ghz half the time. Edited November 8, 2011 by Waco
AceDeAce Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Yeah, unfortunately... Still kinda a thrill seeing that though
