alain3x Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I just build my new rig with the following specs: i7 950 GTX480 Gigabyte x58a-udr3 atx 6gb ddr3 Kingston 1333mhz 600w cooler master psu 2x500gb Maxter RAID0 intel 980 extreme cooler I have overclocked it to 4 ghz @ 1.34375v it runs idle<40c and full load<70c My ram is 1333 @ 8x multiplier My question is: Is the previous overclocking settings safe for 24/7 running And could I push it up more safely? Thank you.
El_Capitan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 You can get 3.68GHz to 3.8GHz or higher with 1.1678v. Intel's TCase is 67.9C, but people have had no problems with cores reaching the 80C area. I'm sure there's always some leeway on TCase, and I prefer my temps to be no more than +5C over the specified TCase.
