Avinexis Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) Hey guys. Ever since I wiped both my main and backup drives clean, since reinstalling Windows all of my DVD installs have been ridiculously slow. I've tried two different DVD Roms, one being IDE, the other SATA. I've changed around the data cables in case they were the problem. I've tried installing multiple games, all to the same conclusion. I've wiped Windows thrice since this has happened and it's still happening. Whereas all downloads seem to run and install as fast as ever. So the DVD Installs are unacceptably slow. I'm currently about 15 minutes into installing Gears of War from DVD and it's about a third of the way through. Any ideas? Avinexis Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) So it ended the setup with the lovely error "Unable to execute dsetup.dll". No ideas at all? Edit: Trying to copy the disk contents onto the harddrive is proving just as futile. Edited August 27, 2010 by Danrik

It's a desktop PC Neither DVD drives have drivers that are offered through the manufacturers websites. The firmwares are updated to the latest available. The chipset drivers were the very first things to be installed. And it's Windows 7 Ultimate x64
