Strident Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) Hey guys i want to overclock my Q9650 to like 3.8Ghz, my room ambient well i don't know maybe 27~30 not sure in Israel is hot on the summer anyway i need a cooler that can handle my CPU stable on 3.8Ghz with good temps, i though getting the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 and buy 2 about 1850 rpm fans and replace the original fans. i though of getting Scythe Mugen 2 Rev.B and do push/pull to, but the problem is that the Mugen 2 is a huge huge cooler i don't know if it will fit in my CM690, and im afraid it can conflict with my memory to.. So guys what do you think? Edited August 11, 2010 by Strident

Zoso Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I am using the Thermaltake Frio on my AMD Phenom ii x4 965 and it is running at 4.0 Ghz. I recommend the Frio for its price, and capability. It idles at about 35-40 Degrees and gets up to about 55 Degrees gaming, but thats on 1.5000v (All degrees are in Celcius)
Smiki007 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 (edited) all of those coolers (Noctua and Frio) are huge if you don't have enough clearance between cpu and side panel, suggesting one of these: 1. Thermaltake ISGC-300 (link [http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1148&ID=1865#Tab0]), or 2. Thermaltake ISGC-400 (link [http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1148&ID=1867#Tab0]) 3. Thermaltake SlimX3 (link [http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1148&ID=1966#Tab1]) 4. Noctua NH-C12P SE14 (link [http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=35&lng=en&set=1]} regards, Smiki Edited August 12, 2010 by Smiki007
