Weird problem..

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

I have a weird problem with my resolution. I use an 19" Acer widescreen monitor. It worked fine for some time now but today, suddenly, my resolution wasn't available anymore (1440x900)... Don't know what caused this problem.. I tried to reinstall ATI drivers but no luck.. :/ Ah, BTW, I'm using the ATI HD4200 intergrated graphics card untill I get my 5850 :)

Ty for help!

Hrmm.. The only thing I can think of off hand would be to make sure you also have the Drivers for your Monitor installed..

I believe my monitor would not go to a higher resolution until I told my computer what kind of monitor I was using...

Worth a shot anyways if its not already showing up as installed.

Had the same problem with my Acer and the only solution was setting up a custom resolution via the Nvidia control panel. ATI will have a similar option somewhere I'm sure?

Well for me I can right click on my Catalyst control Center in my Icon Tray: Choose my Video -> Set Desktop Area to -> then choose a display size.

I can also open the Catalyst control Center: Click on Graphics at the top: Go to -> Desktop Property's : Their are a bunch of settings in there but nothing that I see to force any sizes.

But Ql1max take a look and see.. Like I said above to if you have not already installed the Monitor driver give that a go.

After HOURS of trying diffrent things the solution was as simple as it could be :yucky:

I simply pulled the monitor's electricity cable out and than back in it worked!

LMAO! teehee.gif

Glad to hear you got it working! thumbsup3.gif
