BASGTA Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Hey, so my motherboard says it'll only go up to 1333MHz, but I've heard you can go past it sometimes. Is this only specific motherboards? Or can all of them do it? It also says max RAM speed is 800 (400mhz) but in the past I've gotten it to 900 (450MHz) with no problems at all. I'm just having a few OCing problems with an E6750 currently and I'm trying to narrow down it down.
RJR Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 The MB manufacturers lie, I've got a P35 MB rated at 1333mhz and I've had it up to 2100Mhz, OC away.

I would think you could hit 900+MHz pretty easy, but yes if your motherboard can go to 1333MHz it's technically possible to achieve those speeds
BASGTA Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Well the problem I was having was that I was trying to OC an E6750, I could only get up to about 345MHz (1345MHz FSB, 1:1 DRAM) On my E6500, I can only get it up to about 300MHz, (1200MHz FSB, 4:5 375MHz DRAM)
