google: overclocking i7 920

the first 3 results are guides for overclocking the i7 920 on the asus p6t deluxe

(one of them even has a photo of a BIOS screen with the answer to your question "where is the multiplier?")

it's actually in TWO places in the BIOS

You guys are getting HT (Hyper-Threading) confused with CPU multipliers (20x).

Hyper-Threading is making your quad-core run 2 processing threads on each core to potentially increase performance. (4 Cores = 8 Processing Threads)

Hyper-Threading is generally not used in overclocking because it tends to increase temperatures under load by another 1-4 C under stock settings. (At higher frequencies, it gets potentially hotter)

Changing your CPU Multiplier from 20x to 21x increases your performance from 2.66 Ghz (133 Mhz x 20 Multiplier) to 2.80 Ghz. (133 Mhz x 21 Multiplier) and INTEL calls this Turbo Mode. (Running it at 21x is essentially Turbo Mode)

The stock BCLK (Base Clock) is 133 Mhz and this is what you need to tweak the most to be able to overclock your processor.

Anyways, read the friggin guides, I had to do it too in order to overclock my stuff.
