Cooling question for e6600

Hi guys, I have been reading this forum for some time but this is my first post. I have my e6600 running with an inexpensive cooler(MASSCOOL 8WT15-38 90mm Long life Bearing CPU Cooler). CPUID hardware monitor shows temps of 57-58 degrees C during prim95 stress tests. If I wanted to OC from current 266 to 333 mhz, how much extra heat would this produce? Does the increase in heat come from the faster clock cycles or from the increase in voltage? I'm guessing I would need a better cooler to do something like this. Thanks.

I was doing some research and it seems that the distance to Tjmax is what is more important than what some program says my temps are. I checked my Tjmax for my e6600 with b2 stepping and found it to be 70C according to intel. When I put this into Real Temp and run a stress test i get like 30 C from Tjmax during the 100% portion. This would lead me to believe I still have some headroom with this cooler. What do you guys think?

your temps will raise from the faster speed and the increased voltage and for it to be more stable you really want to keep it cooler than what you have it at right now. If you got the money I would suggest the noctua d14 it is massive so a large case is needed but lord it cools great. dropped my temps over 20 from the stock intel cooler on my e6850 at stock speeds. and now runs about 29C at 3.5

I wouldn't put a lot of money into an aging system but can see where you can squeeze quite a bit more life out of it. While the Noctua may be a great cooler it is on the expensive side. There are more mid-range coolers that will work to get a higher overclock just fine.
