mac173 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I have an MSI P7N SLI Platinum. I have the CPU fan speed set in the BIOS for a minimum of 25% and a target of 60 degrees. However, the CPU fan runs constantly at 100%. I get reported temps of 18c! I know that may be an odd complaint, but I don't want my fan running so fast all the time. How do I get the fan to slow down?
Scottike Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) Are you using a PWM (4 pin) fan on your cpu cooler? If your using a 3 pin fan rather than 4 pin it will only run at full speed because the 4th wire is used to control fan speed. Solution: purchase a PWM fan for your cpu cooler. (about 10-15 bucks) Edited January 11, 2010 by Scottike
