Dom152 Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Hey all, I've just built myself a brand new gaming rig. I have a Core i7 920 processor on an MSI X58 Pro-E motherboard. I've been fiddling about in the BIOS trying to up the speed of the processor a bit. So I increased the base clock which brought up the CPU frequency but it also brought up the DRAM frequency which I don't want. It's stock speed is 1066 MHz and the MSI board won't let me bring it back down via ratios or anything. Anyone with this board know what to do? RJR Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 What Danny is telling you is that this is overclocking 101 type stuff and it would be a very good idea to learn a little bit about OCing before changing things in your Bios. You can Google "i7 920 overclocking guide" and find a ton of information that would be very helpful to you. Just curious, what bclk and ratio (memory multiplier) did you set?
