hello everybody, i was recently looking at the sunbeamtech core contact freezer 120mm, i read on some reviews that the tension from the bracket was so high that it bent some motherboards, i dont know how much truth there is to this and if i bought this cooler should i be woried that the intense pressure could damage my processor or motherboard, because i really do like the cooler, it keeps the air flow in my case going from front to back, and i dont need to remove the motherboard to install it, on top of all that the price is right, i just dont wanna try to put a cooler on my new equipment that willl damage my processor or motherboard, so if anyone knows if this is truley possible or not, or maybe you have some personal experiance with the cooler let me know, am i worried over nothing, will the cooler do just fine? or can it really hurt my stuff ?? :(

Ok, no personal experience here... But i'll tell you it is possible... I've seen one of my setups MBs flex a little when I had the cooler installed... Never had damage but i'm sure if the flex was enough or just right it could mess up some connections on the printed circuits on the MB... It may also push so hard on the CPU that it might damage that...

But honestly when your installing it, you should be able to feel if your putting to much pressure on it and something is wrong.

I'm gonna guess that it's caused sometimes by the different mounting plates different motherboards have. Since they are not all exactely the same one could make the cooler just a little bit tighter than others (they are made out of plastic mostly which can have many slight manufacturing defects... and for that matter so can any other component..). I would say your like 99% safe with it... Just watch how tight it feels when you install the clip. If its to tight, stop.. figure out why, fix it.... Hope this helps stop some of your worrying.
