My Server Build

My goal for 2009 was to build a home based server in order to host most of my files, movies, music etc. but I got married, had a baby and it somewhat got put on the back burner.

 

I am ready to begin my venture again, so please help in anyway you can. As far as budget, I don't really have one but I wish to be logically and be as frugal as possible without giving up anything significant.

 

Here is what I have so far:

 

Case: Thermaltake LANBOX Lite VF6000BNS Black

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT-UD2H

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS

Memory: Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3

Media: LITE-ON Black 24X DVD Writer Black SATA

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM x 2

 

Total Cost: $680

 

I will be running it to a 42" Toshiba LCD when I need a monitor. Keyboard and mouse I already have (Logitech S510 Wireless Combo)

 

Any advice? This is my first time building a server-type system, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
