I tried turning it on/off and I don't see much of an improvement either way Yeah man it makes a massive difference, especially when working with large files, seemless zooming and faster effect rendering. I cannot use GPU acceleration on that X1270, neither can I use SMP since it has a single core Athlon Neo, so I don't really see the advantage of upgrading...
