overclocking my X4 940... Need help

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

I have read many tuts and guides but i cant figure this sucker out... I overclocked my cpu to 3.6Ghz with a multiplier of 18x.

What the difference between the VID voltage on core temp and the core voltage on cpu z?

your voltages will fluctuate. What is it set at in the bios? I think with 3.6 that your volts should be at least 1.375, most Phenom2s need a little volts for 3.6ghz. 1.375 is still a mild Volt increase over the stock 1.35

what do you want to know? which specs? My chip is an unlocked 720 and the volts for the validation are listed in my sig. I have since lowered the OC to 3.55 with 4 cores on stock volts. I lowered it so that i can run the NB @2520 and also down clocked my ram to 610 or ddr 1220 with 5-5-5-15. In many benchmarks and games i can match the 3710 OC with these lower setting and better NB and memory timings. My NB is slightly over volted although. I am retiring this chip to my wife and have ordered another 720 to play with. this one is a gem but i kinda got to hand pick it out of many, so the next one is gonna be totally random chance!!
