Makwak Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Hi All, I have been dabbling in this art for a couple months now, trying to understand some of the more complex topics. From my reading it seems the aim seems to get your FSB:DRAM ratio at a 1:1. Currently im running a q6600 at 2.4Ghz (FSB at 1066 on a Nvidia 750i mobo) with 4GB DDR2 Dominator ram at 1066. With this my FSB:DRAM is at 1:2 with my memory timings at 5-5-5-15-31-2T. What i'm wondering is: 1)how much of a performace enhancement would i get for getting the FSB:DRAM ratio to 1:1, 2)what the best way of doing that is 3)and how i would know what to change the memory timings to (especially the tRC as i don't know what to change that to now) Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Makwak
slngsht Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 1:1 was a very important goal back in the athlon64 and x2 days with ddr1 ram. Nowadays, it's not as big of a deal. The idea is to keep your ram close to stock speed or over a bit as long as it can handle it. You shouldn't see any performance hit with a ram divider.
