I have been searching for guides and I'm still not really good at it, I need some step by step help. Here is my computer: 1000 Watt Extreme Power Supply Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8500 INTEL Liquid CPU Cooling System Asus Rampage Formula 4 GB [2 GB X2] DDR2-800 ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB Do I need a better heatsink before I overclock it? damian Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 (edited) Read this guide: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=71656 Start off simple; set your multiplier to the highest setting, and start raising your FSB in small increments of 5. Find your safest clock while under temperatures of 60C. Since you have ram speeds of DDR2 800 you'll need to find out how much it can take as well. So once you get past around 850~860 start using memtest as well as upping your DDR2 voltage. Stay in its limit though.
