oblivescence Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 So a friend asked me to look at her tv/dvd combo piece of crap. Short version is I got it apart and the motor that spins the dvd sounds like its spinning but I can see the spindle is definitely not spinning, its not locked up either, I can move it with my hand. And, I don't know how to fix that, and I aint ordering a new motor to solder in, it aint worth that much work for a possibly maybe fix. So, I was wondering if anyone here knew any neat tricks, magic phrases, or a recipe for electronic holy water that might fix this. I told her what was broke and she somehow is convinced I can still fix this.... So I said I'd do some research and see if I can find out how, otherwise, not happening. So, this is me doing research.
