Pryme Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Anyone have a suggestion on how to cool this Asus board northbridge chipset? I searched the net and have read horror stories about what can happen if you try to take the heatsink off so I don't want to go there. Unfortunately I'm still using stock cooling but plan on getting the Tuniq tower 120 next week in preparation for the summer heat. Would a different cooler that blows air on the chipset be a better choice. Right now I found an old chipset cooler and screwed it on which has kept my temps below 50C, but it looks ugly. Any help would be appreciated.
Branjo Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 lol yeah im thinking the exact same thing bro, summer, high humidity the old PC temps start to climb into the red zone very quickly. I would go with the Tuniq Tower or the Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme is supposed to be better but by the looks of them they need lapped, some places will do it for I think just under $
Pryme Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Thanks for the pointer. I'll do some searching and read up about it. At first look they seem to be similar in price. Now I'll read and compare performance.
