nalo1022 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Hi Ive been lurking around these forums for quite a while, but have never made an account. I'm thinking about setting up a dedicated loop for my 6800GS's in SLI and was wondering How big of a radiator I would need to dissipate the heat from both GPUs and the memory. Both cards are overclocked with the cores at 531MHZ and the memory at 1200MHz. They currently idle at about 40-45C and get up to about 65-70C while gaming. Both cards are fitted with NV5 silencers which are an EXTREMLEY tight fit and required some modification to get both cards seated. Would I be able to get away with a 120mm radiator if it is cooling just the graphics cards?
radodrill Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 for dual graphics I'd recommend a 240mm (2x120mm) radiator. But in all honesty, for the cost you'd invest in a H2O loop for those cards you'd probably be better advised getting a better graphics card (i.e. 8800 GTS 512) as it'd easily outperform a pair of overclocked 6800s
