Mr. Jules Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Anybody every try using BH5 and vdimm over 3.2v on this bios? For some reason I get a system hang of one type or another whenever I put the vdimm over 3.2v. I am thinking about flashing to a modified older bios with a vdimm mod and see if it allows me to push it higher. Anybody have any experience with this problem though?
red930 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 BH-5 don't get to cruising till you hit 3.4 and up. with out it. you basically run it stock. If you wont to run it at 250 2-2-2-5 it takes 3.5vidd
Mr. Jules Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Thanks for the input wil. I know that I need more vdimm for this stuff but my problem is getting there. My board gives me issues when I try to supply the vdimm with anything over 3.2v.
red930 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 there should be tuns of entries with BH-5 in the 754 OCDB
Guest Ghost Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Is your 3.3v rail at least .02v higher than your target voltage?
Mr. Jules Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 yes it is, but that's not the solution to the problem. I flashed to the TicTac 5/04 bios and now I have no trouble adjusting my vdimm above 3.3v without upping my 3.3v rail. Thanks for the input guys but looks like the bios was the solution. red930 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 that's what you think. it will not give any more volts then the 3.3 rail will give. no Mater what it says. In less of course the 3.3 rail has already been bumped up. Or we are all miss reading you
Mr. Jules Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I don't know what to say, I'm not saying that anybody is wrong here, I appreciate everyones input, i'm just saying that whatever the reason I can now push my vdimm to 3.4v and beyond whereas before 3.3v wasn't possible. red930 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 lol well yeah the tony molded Bios will allow you to set the vidd higher then the stock DFI bios Witch stop at 3.2. But what I'm saying is you can set it to 4.0 but until you raise your 3.3 rail to 4.0 (don't do it) is still only going to give you 3.2 Vidd max. because that's all your 3.3 rail is set to. So if you wont to run 3.4volt you have either got to get a booster or set your 520 3.3 rail to 3.6 (.02 over what you wont to run)
Mr. Jules Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Great man, I am still testing the cpu with this new bios but once I get to the RAM I'll certainly implement your input. It's truly appreciated!
