red930 Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Hi, About a week ago, Asus offered to download a new BIOS onto my dad's Linux rig (or something to the extent of that). He clicked OK, but then he clicked Cancel. The BIOS became corrupt, so he got me to flash to Asus' latest (from 0228 to 0229). After the flash, his CPU usage is now at a constant 70%. None of us know what processes are eating up the CPU; nothing shows up as obvious in Task Manager and 'System Idle Process' is always at 94-97. My dad ran all the obvious checks (virus, etc) and pretty much found nothing. This all happened after the BIOS flash. Any help as to what's doing this? Thanks.
