Poor SATA performance (non raid)???

Hi all

 

Since I started using this CFX3200 motherboard, I have noticed that the HDD performance with my WD Raptor 74GB doesn't seem to be as fast as it was with my previous DFI NF4 board. I have tried both SATA controllers, several driver versions, and using only the windows drivers but I still see a noticeable decrease in HDD performance. This is most noticeable when windows is loading up and when I am loading games. Games that I have been playing for a few years now (ie WH40K:DOW etc etc) load noticeably slower.

 

Is there anything I can do to increase the performance of my HDD? Is there something specific about my configuration that is causing this?
