IDE HDD is not detected (asus)

problem solved here > dead HDD.

 

I installed fresh xp on one of my sata drives and the other one is also detected.

 

For future reference (for p5b deluxe):

 

1) Don't disable jmicron cuz unlike amd it controls the ide channels.

 

2) If your ide drives disappear, try clearing CMOS (unplug power, remove battery, change jumper - put it back, put battery back, plug power).

 

3) If you would like to use ide drives with sata drives, and furthermore if you would like to use your sata drives as your master then connect your sata drives to pink slots otherwise use black ones.

 

 

PS: osama in my earlier ds3 board I believe both of my ide drives were on the cs mode.
