Guest Slash Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I just got the DFI SLI-DR Expert and 4000+ 939 combo on newegg. I bought an xp90c about a year ago on a sale for 20 bucks but I seem to have lost it in a move. This opens up the option as to if I buy another XP90c or an Ultra 90. In the one review I could find the performance was equal and I figured the ultra 90 would be the better choice due to the cheaper price and it appears easier to clean. Does anyone have any special opinions? Oh yeah, I'm limited to using the 90 mm heatsinks because I already have a very nice adjustable thermaltake 90mm blue led fan that i just love. calvintang Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 no copper. its heavier, and the cooling boost is not alot. you could get a nicer blue 120 fan
WonderingSoul Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I don't think so calvintang. Copper 385 W/m-k Aluminum 210 W/m-k That's quite a substantial difference in heat conductivity... The XP-90C is almost neck and neck with an XP-120. Imagine an XP-90C with a 120>90 duct.
satandole666 Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I had an XP-90c in use for quite a while. I never saw temps above 50c on either core. I have it in use on my old 3000+ right now, in fact. Only reason I got rid of it was a switch to water. I'd highly recommend it...but it seems like most people prefer 120mm fan HSs nowadays. Guest Slash Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 I ended up with an XP90c. Availability was the key
