Hello. Will you help me OC my computer?

"Google up the proper memory settings for your ram! Let us know how it works out."

Forgive my ignorance. But what should I type to google this?

If you could link me to a site that shows me what you are talking about I would realy appreciate it.

PS your signature is very helpfull, as I have been extensively reading everything from it (some of it I dont understand but thats for later).

And the minimal build is deffinetly what I plan on. (except I dont plan on using the artic stuff till I overclock per angry who says to use the thermal padding in that case) .

I have already read it a couple times, Im a bit confused. Happy seems to trail off and never actualy finish the entire process(with pictures) of the build and I have read the entirety of the post.

Heres the info I got.

1GB 400MHz DDR Non-ECC CL3 (3-3-3) DIMM (Kit of 2).

Valueram KVR400X64C3AKE/1G is a kit of two 64M x 64-bit(512MB)CL3 DDR400 SDRAM memory modules. Total capacity is 1GB(1024MB). The components on each module include sixteen 32M x 8-bit (8M x 8-but x 4 Bank) DDR400 SDRAM in TSOP packages. Each 184-pun DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +2.6V. The electrical and mechanical specifications are as follows.

Clock cycle time (tCK) 5ns (min.)/10 ns (max.)

Row cycle time (tRC) 55ns (min.)

Refresh Row Cycle Time (tRFC) 70ns (min.)

Single Power Supply of +2.6V (+/- .1V)

Power (IDD0) 3.744 W (operating)

UL rating 94 V- 0

Is this the information I need?

You may be able to use 2 x 512 for now, though it's value RAM it still can be used/tried. Use your orange RAM slots.

You can try these Genie BIOS and Dram timings. Be sure to enable memtest inside Genie BIOS to test your RAM before you attempt your OS install.

You can click on the stability testing link under my sig for instructions on how to properly set up and run memtest86. You can use memtest for windows AFTER you have tested and have your OS installed.

Note: You can try using all 4 sticks but you have to install 2 in your orange slots and go into BIOS and disable command per clock save and exit BIOS then shut down and install all 4 sticks, reboot and set your timings.

Good Luck.

"AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 San Diego 2.8GHz 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor"

Thats pretty fast for stock! I have basicly "hit the wall" at 2.8 Gig on my 4800+. (Stock is 2.4 Gig)
