Jeaze_Mcleod Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I ran two instances of Prime 95 to get both cores up to 100% duty cycle and left it all night. The temperatures were taken with CoreTemp monitor and it registered around 43 degrees celcius. I was also using ITE monitor and it registered 53 degrees for the North Bridge. I am guessing that I should add about 4 more degrees to the Nroth Bridge reading because CoreTemp read 4 degrees hotter then ITE for the CPU. I would like to know if these temperatires are alright eventhough I am running stock speeds and if there is anything that deserves attention. I also noticed something weird in which with both instacnes of Prime 95 I could hear a buzzing sound kinda of electric in nature... as soon as I stopped Prime 95 the sound went away. I double checked and its not the fans... it seems to be coming from the northern bank of the cpu area... could be the capacitors just doing their thing? I am running the 2 120mm fans on the heatsink and the 120mm fan as exhaust at around 1500 rpms. There one of the heatsink fans that if I crank it all the way up it makes a whinning sound so im not sure if I should just replace it. Any input would be apreciated. Grunty Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Those temps seem fine to me. My northbridge temp is always about 53 deg. My cpu temp at idle stock with fans going fast is wildly dependant on room temp and varies anywhere from 29-40 deg. A load temp of 40-45 stock seems normal to me with air. Jeaze_Mcleod Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 So it seems I am in the threshold in a good way. One of the things that I forgot to ask is there a good air solution to replace the stock heatsink for the North Bridge so I can cool it down?
